Neo-Condi and the Neocons.
A neoconservative is just a liberal who got mugged by reality, a neoliberal is a liberal who got mugged by reality but has not pressed charges.-Irving Kristol

Another word was or will be added to the dictionary, neocon or neo-(meaning new) conservatives (favoring preservation of the existing order) are generally known to be former liberals turned conservative due to views on Israel and/or the former Soviet Union. Former defense undersecretary Paul Wolfowitz is best-known among them today, but author Davis Horowitz may be the first official neocon and Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice is the best known of them.

The beginnings of neoconservatism go much farther back than the actions of the contemporary icons I just named, all the way back to the ‘50’s. They originally supported WWII because of the emergence of the oppressive Hitler, they rejected the New Deal, the Great Society and other progressive ideas. The Wikipedia states: “Throughout the ‘50’s and early 1960’s the early neoconservatives had been anti-communist anti-socialist or liberals strongly supportive the American Civil Rights Movement, integration and Martin Luther King” At some point they drew the line at ‘60’s counterculture (hippies and such) and Lyndon Johnson’s New Deal. Today neocons are hard-line against reduced military and defense but are more or less still liberal on domestic issues. Can a neocon be trusted? Their jumping parties may say more about their personal state of mind than the state of politics.

The Cold War produced whom is now known as the founder of the neoconservative movement; Irving Kristol. He co-published a literary magazine along with Norman Podhoretz called “Encounter.” It was later discovered during the mid-‘60’s that the periodical was financed by the CIA. Author David Horowitz; former ‘60’s Marxist, New Left, and Black Panther associate, currently has an oxymoronic post as Fox News Analyst. Back when he was a Marxist (more Groucho than Karl for this clown) Horowitz reportedly didn’t like Soviet totalitarianism. Abigail Thernstrom was a former left radical turned right wing-nut (she calls herself an independent), known for her “accusatory polemic style,” according to author Sydney Blumenthal. It was she who once gave Lani Guinier the tag of “Quota Queen,” to scare lawmakers from confirming her for the post that then-president Clinton appointed her, to head his administration’s Civil Rights Division.

Neocon philosophy seemed to be more for the people in it’s beginning, but nowadays its globalist zipper is open. Like Wolfowitz-who now heads the World Bank-Bush has a number of these in his administration. Condoleezza Rice is foremost among them. Condi turned republican in 1982 she wasn’t satisfied with then-president Carter’s foreign policy. Not much is said about her neocon history but it was a concern during her Secretary of State confirmation. Recently she hired neocon Eliot Cohen as Counselor to the State Department. Neocons to me were mostly just naïve liberals.

EVERYBODY HATES THE BLACK TRADITIONAL FAMILY pt-3
BLACK MALE INDIFFERENCE LED TO WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENt.

I previously spoke of the black community having been sitting on a fence from around 1975 to the arrival of crack cocaine and vulgar rap lyrics. It is hard for many to accept the fact that if the black man had a better grip on his family during that period, then a lot of the problems that began to plague his community would never have taken place. During this period of virtual military AWOL the black female was forced to take the mantle as head of the family and basically head of the community. Whereas white women came up through feminism, black women came up through black male absenteeism. Many of these sisters did a great job of raising kids in the place of the legion of reality-impaired fathers. Others though, would go on to make things worse.

Along with the seeming economic advancement of many single black mothers came the onset of the black woman’s “Empowerment Conferences.” These gatherings would be good if they focused on actual self-improvement, but they don’t. They just make the black female more of an individual than she was before. Not all of these women are financially, mentally or emotionally empowered and they won’t be when they return home either. These conferences are put on by women whose briefcases are still loaded with baggage upon closer inspection. The meetings may serve as a nice getaway if you can afford it, but if they favor pro-black traditional family then they apologize.

One  Area that can be a trouble spot is the so-called “today’s black woman.”

What is the difference between today’s black woman and yesterday’s black woman? Does she have more bodily parts? No. Does she do things differently than yesterday’s black woman? Not really. Can she fly a Space Shuttle? Possibly. Can she be a police commissioner or Sheriff? Probably. Has her car driving improved? Not likely. Does she exercise more? Maybe. Is she earning more money than yesterday’s black woman? Probably. Is she a better cook than yesterday’s black woman? Hell No. The display of one mannerism and only one mannerism has given our African Queens the title of “today’s black woman.” Her ability to talk back to her man. You see, a lot of women complain that there are no more Malcolms and Martins among us so therefore they have to go for what they know, but scant few of them match up to the standard of Betty and Coretta. Even if all black men got their acts together, she would fight us even harder.

In the immortal words of author Shahrazad Ali in 1989: “When the black woman talks badly to the black man she is not speaking her own mind. She is speaking from the artificial mind she has adopted from western civilization (America)… the black woman has no history of speaking disrespectfully to the black man before she came to America. Disrespecting the black man is new to the black nation.” Divisive TV (reality shows) add more fuel to divide blacks. It’s nation time.

Padilla
DON’T LET BUSH’S OTHER HANDPICKED TERROR SCAPEGOAT
SLIP FROM VIEW.
.
As of 4/16/07 Rumsfeld vs. Padilla became a reality in a Miami federal courtroom. I anticipated this trial for years and the jury selection phase already began. First there was Zaccarias Mousaoui; the lone black man and so-called 5th-plane hijacker and considered to be one who could have prevented the 9/11 attacks and didn’t. This time around a Hispanic American is being tried for plotting to detonate a radioactive “dirty bomb” and blow up some projects (high rise apartments).

The US shockingly enough has no hard evidence as to these charges, all that is known about Jose Padilla is that he was born in New York, raised in Chicago, joined a gang called the Maniac Latin Disciples and changed his sir name several times to Rivera, Hernandez, and Ortiz among others. Wooo, now I understand W’s fixation, this guy is a real maniac. When Padilla refused to change his name to Kawalsky, Rothstein or O’Hare (after the airport of course) that’s when Bush’s keen detective skills kicked in. Plus Padilla spent time in a juvenile detention center, moved to Florida with his family later on and converted to Islam. Terrorist traits for certain, he’s the expert I guess.

In ’98 Padilla traveled to Egypt to continue his studies in Islam. Reportedly he adopted a non-violent way of life. Upon returning from Zurich in May of ’02 he was arrested at O’Hare airport. In the grand jury investigation of 9/11 one month later in a dazzling piece of mind-reader ability, George “the decider” Bush proclaimed Padilla an “enemy combatant.” Nothing is really known as to whether he engaged anyone in combat outside of reform school and probably a couple of essays in Cook County, but on 8/9/02 Bush ordered then-Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to detain Padilla. He was taken to a military brig in South Carolina without any notification to his family or attorneys.

The most Padilla may be guilty of is simple association, he is being connected to Adham Amin Hassoun who is believed to have worked for a terrorist fund-raising organization authorities feel has ties to al Qaeda. What seems certain is the abuse he suffered while in lock down, his lawyers say Padilla was victimized by ongoing physical and psychological abuse that has affected him mentally. The Bush Administration want it both ways, they say he was not abused and is fit for trial and then they say details about his detention should be kept out of the trial. The 9 jurors were selected out of 17 prospects. Trial could actually begin in early May, this time prosecutors won’t be focusing on connecting Padilla to a dirty bomb. Conspiracy  to further violent Jihad will be the focus for now.

Padilla’s court battles are marred by a level of determination to detain that is only equaled by incompetence and is too lengthy to list in this column. But then again what more could you ask of the Bush Administration? That this determination is based on an obsession to link black and brown American boys to 9/11 should surprise no one.
