What’s Good for the Goose…

A few doofus republicans (I think they’re women, I’m not sure) have banded together to call critics of Alaska Governor Sarah Louis Heath-Palin “sexists.” I almost choked on my grits one evening upon hearing the inflammatory accusation (yeah that’s right I eat grits, what about it?). Allow me please to set things straight. First of all it’s not Palin’s critics that are sexists, it’s Palin’s daughter who’s a sexist. Every time Bristol Palin sees a baton, she’s off to the races. In McCain’s White House that call at 3am is going to be one of Bristol’s boyfriends.

Somewhere out there Senator Barack Obama may be having a good laugh, but I’m sure he knows the only thing standing between a bad ticket and victory is a lot of gullible voters. Can even American voters be that stupid? No. Barack Obama is not going to lose to a candidate whose personal circumstances stand against everything the Grand Old Party so outwardly proclaims; abstinence, traditional family, God, Apple Pie and condoms.

According to a story by Dan Balz of the Washington Post (contrary to my assumption) McCain does have a “vetting team” and the vettee (Palin) disclosed in a meeting between her and members of this team that her 17-year-old is pregnant. McCain’s team still offered her the 2nd most important job in the nation (behind CEO of Hooters). This led me to wonder if McCain took the VP position seriously, or has he long since thrown in the towel and he just wants to give a relative unknown 15-minutes-of-fame. I suppose after Cheney a republican running-mate no longer requires a background check. After all, if the current guy shoots people and has a lesbian daughter, then a daughter getting it on with a boy, without birth control, is boring minor league stuff. As it is Sarah Palin took to the stage at the Republican National Convention last Wednesday night (8/3/08) with her family including Bristol the prego and an alleged father now being pitched as her boyfriend; Levi Johnston. Who does Sarah think she is Roseanne? What’s becoming more of a no-brainer no-vote is actually being framed as acceptable in the eyes of many white Americans.

My suggestion for those republican and democratic women who refuse to vote Obama/Biden or who feel like going with McCain/Palin just out of spite because you’re still “bitter” over Hillary, or you still want a woman on the ticket; how about two? The Green Party offers McKinney/Clemente. Cynthia has been laboring out there in the cricket section with nothing more than real issues; her record of fighting the big boys makes Palin’s pale by comparison. Love her or hate her we all know this. She was the first to question 9/11 and demand impeachment. She tapped Journalist Rosa Clemente, a Hispanic. I know, I know, you wanted McKinney to go out and pick Casey Anthony, the mother of missing 3-year-old Caylee, you reason only mediocrity can compete with Palin and McKinney would have jumped up in the polls. Take a hint from Oprah and ignore McCain/Palin.
