01.04.06 So big bad Stanley didn't want to fry, so the man who basically inspired this mindless wave of Black on Black murder and crime through the founding of one of the nation's most infamous street gangs didn't want to die his own self. So one of the boys who started and enforced young African American males to frivolously kill each other based on the wearing of blue color apparel-even if you are a private citizen not even participating in a gang-had a hard time picturing himself taking that final walk. So the very same individual who co-originated the concept of the drive-by shooting-i.e. You are shooting at people while riding in a moving car because you are too lazy and/or cowardly to actually get out and do it face to face-refused to be driven or walked to his lethal injection. Well booo, hooo, hooo. The only good news is that on 12/12 the CA Supreme Court and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger said no to the former teen terror. Excuse me Stan, but this begging for your life thing, wasn't that sort of like punking out? Why yes it is. In fact, Stanley"Tookie" Williams must have had a clue that he was only on death row primarily because of his murder of 4 non-Blacks. This is part of the game of why Whites through the criminal justice system really went after him. Did Tookie ever kill any Blacks? Directly I don't know, indirectly, thousands through his co-founding the Crips, and that makes him blood-guilty enough for me to walk away from him and his pleas for mercy. You know, I've said it before, and I'll say it again, at least Timothy McViegh was a man about it. McViegh who co-conspired to blow up the Federal Building in Oklahoma City-killing hundreds of Whites, Blacks, and children, demanded to speed up his execution. Hey Stan what's up?
What's up is this, Mr. Williams was a wretched little street-rat stripped of all the advantages he had over his victims, and he couldn't stand it. That's right folks, I know ghetto-hustle when I see it. Now why is it that I am able to see through Tookie, when a lot of you can't? Because it's no longer enough to fight for political prisoners, that's too obvious, and many of you become too obstinate over the wrong things, and others of you, confused over what the Black cause really is, will front as if fighting for the likes of a "Tookie" or a "Pookie" makes you look "down." He was hoping you'd confuse him for Mumia Abu-Jamal? It was a nice ride, he killed in cold blood and lived another 26 years? Who dares to toss a brick through a window for Tookie? Count your blessings Tookie-fans. Yes I'm liberal, I'm as hard to the left as it gets on most things, but I'm not stupid. I'll fight for that young girl he shot in the face, I grieve over all the Blacks who died needlessly as a result of the fighting between the Crips and their rivals the Bloods. I'm even against the death penalty, I know he's no. 1,002 to be executed (since '76), I'm more depressed when I think about the Black lives that were lost because Tookie's gang wanted to protect the crack industry.
Don't think I didn't do any research on Tookie, I've seen his website, (Tookie's Corner) quite impressive. I've seen the titles of the kid's books he penned with Barbara Cottman Becnel; "Gangs and Wanting to Belong," "Gangs and Drugs," "Gangs and your Friends," "Gangs and Your Neighborhood." How about 'Gangs and some Good Lawyers?' that would have been his next book, had Arnold given him a Stay. I've seen his apology, "I no longer participate in the so-called gangster lifestyle, and I deeply regret that I did." Of course not participating in gangs while locked up, is like an alcoholic confined in a treatment center saying 'I no longer drink.' Why couldn't Tookie write these books while he was on the streets?
If these books and Williams' claimed reformation are enough to get him into heaven then more power to him. But as I said years ago, the death penalty is like a broken clock and even broken clocks are right twice a day, and Tookie's execution meets my time frame. It's very important that young gang members realize there are consequences for such horribly stupid and needless murders based on a refusal to listen to good advice during your youth, and refusing to learn how to read and support yourself-regardless of your family situation, and educational disadvantages - when there is no viable excuse not to. I support Minister Louis Farrakahn's call to all of the nation's street gangs to lay down their arms, and prove to the world, themselves, and the Black community how tough they really are, by finding legitimate ways to either be businesspersons, or earn a living.
